I was looking over the command panel the other day, and I'm not convinced we need that extra button for “Fire.” Too many options can make the crew slow down in a real firefight. What do you think?

I get your point about clutter, but if you strip the “Fire” button off you’re trading speed for a new cognitive loop—crew members will have to remember to toggle the fire mode every time they jump. Think of it like a keyboard shortcut that’s buried behind a menu; the first time you pull it, the brain does a little detour that slows the whole crew. Maybe we could collapse the button into a single, high‑contrast toggle that automatically defaults to fire mode when the weapon is active. That way you keep the interface lean without forcing users to remember a second step. Plus, having a dedicated button gives a tactile cue that you’re in fire‑mode, which is critical when milliseconds matter. What do you think about a small, colored switch that disappears when not needed?
